Working thermometer with fresh batteries: Use digital rectal for children less than 6 months.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol): Do not give to infants less than 2 months without speaking to physician.

Ibuprofen (Motrin/Advil):  Do not give to infant less than 6 months without speaking to physician.

Antihistamine (Benadryl, Claritin, or Zyrtec):  For allergic reactions, hives, or itching.

Neosporin or other triple antibiotic OTC cream.

1% Hydrocortisone cream: Anti-inflammatory for skin lesions such as bug bites, eczema, or poison ivy.

Salt water/saline nose drops and Suction Bulb.

Cool mist vaporizer: Use for coughs, croup, and congestion.

Antifungal cream: Use for ringworm, athlete’s foot, or yeast diaper rash.

Mucinex: Use for runny, stuffy nose.

Pedialyte: For vomiting and/or diarrhea

An ice pack and ace wrap: For older children with injuries such as ankle sprains.

Medicine teaspoon/dropper with accurate measurements.

Gauze pads and bandages: For wounds

Betadine: For cleaning wounds.
