Our Practice Philosophies
VACCINES: Our vaccine policy follows the schedule outlined by the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics. We vaccinate our own children on schedule and expect the same of our patients.
ANTIBIOTICS: We work hard to not overuse antibiotics. Following evidence- based guidelines, we educate families on their appropriate use. BRP does not automatically treat ear pain or green snotty noses with antibiotics. When used appropriately, antibiotics are excellent medicines.
MEDICAL HOME:Â As your medical home, BRP provides comprehensive medical care. Patients are expected to contact our office FIRST before seeking specialists or heading to urgent care.
TECHNOLOGY: Mymedicallocker.com works as our patient portal giving families access to patient records/vaccines, scheduling, and accounts.
OFFICE HOURS: BRP is a small, independent office practice. Office hours are by appointment. We pride ourselves on our flexibility, always trying to accommodate patient needs. Same-day visits are available for sick care.
AFTER HOURS: Our on-call pediatric group covers all weekends and holidays. Contact information is available by calling our main number 317- 875-0009. We expect that unless it is a true medical emergency and required 911, that you will call the on-call physician to discuss recommendations prior to heading to the ER or urgent care. We often arrange to see our patients in office Saturday and/or Sunday morning for acute care.
SPECIALIST CARE: As your medical home we expect that you will contact our office to discuss care plans before scheduling an appointment with a specialist. We want to be involved in either providing care in our office when necessary, or referring you to the most appropriate specialist and helping coordinate care.
BILLING AND FEES: It is up to you to understand how your insurance works, including deductibles and co-insurance, and to provide up-to-date information at every visit.
TIME LINES: As everyone’s time is equally valuable, our office makes every effort to run on time with appointments. We ask that you make every effort to present to the office at your scheduled time and call if running late. We reserve the right to ask you to reschedule if scheduled appointment time is missed.
